There were 10 hospitalizations at the designated COVID-19 center, an increase of three from last week. The region’s death toll since the pandemic’s onset stood at 171, with four deaths being recorded in the past week.
On March 19, the CISSSO released a report on the conditions at CHSLD Lionel Émond, which was provoked by a recent fatal outbreak that occurred at the facility despite 96 per cent of residents receiving their first vaccine dose. The report revealed that only 40 per cent of the staff members at the facility chose to receive the vaccine dose.
The CISSSO also announced on March 19 that residents aged 65 and over were now able to book an appointment to receive their first dose of the vaccine. Residents can make an appointment at Quebec.ca/vaccinCOVID or by calling 1-877-644-4545.
