It was absolutely a winter wonderland on Saturday morning when I woke up. The snow was clinging to the trees and when the sun came out it looked like diamonds glittering everywhere. I jumped in the truck and drove around Vinton and Campbell’s Bay to take pictures. It is totally mind blowing how beautiful nature can be and how the scenery can change in the blink of an eye.

I only wish that my pictures would be half as beautiful as . . .

what I actually see with my eyes. I would so love to be able to paint like that but I haven’t mastered that yet. It’s like driving through the Rockies and trying to take in all the beauty and it’s almost impossible. Pictures just cannot capture what your eye can. They can come close but not exact.

Then I saw a special at the Maxi store in Gatineau, Que. which said that hamburger was on sale for two dollars a pound. I called them to ask if there was a limit on it and they told me no that I could go and buy all I wanted and that it was no longer two dollars a pound but $1.48. So, I jumped in my truck and drove down and bought 100 pounds of hamburger meat for my grandchildren. The only problem is they were all packaged in one pound packages. When I got home I had to unpack them and put four pounds into a large freezer bag. So I had to do that 25 times and then dismantle my freezer and put all their meat in the bottom because they won’t be here for a long time because of COVID.

I’m getting tired of winter, COVID and these restrictions. Everyone is going crazy being cooped up and not able to see their loved ones. There are so many stories on Facebook and people who misunderstand the news. People are getting paranoid and others think that COVID is all a conspiracy.

The vaccination site for the Pontiac will be at the RA Centre in Campbell’s Bay, Que. Just keep watching your local newspapers and listen to your local radio for details as to who and what age groups will be accepted and for the dates. I’m trying to be patient but I also get anxious, then I’ve got to calm myself down. I’m telling you all this because I want you to know that you are not the only one feeling this way.

Happy birthday wishes go out to Georgette Pauquette, Deborah Frost, Vanessa Sloan on Feb. 24, to John Patrick Sloan on Feb 25, to Bride Holland and Gisele Pepin on Feb. 26, to Scott Crawford on Feb. 27 and to Troy LaJambre and Beth Dubeau on March 1.
