Our condolences and deepest sympathies go out to the McKinnon family on the sudden passing of James (Jim) McKinnon at his home in Chapeau, Que. on Dec. 12 at the age of 67. He was the son of the late Darcy McKinnon and the late Margaret Nephin.

Also our deepest sympathies go out to the Sullivan and Meilleur families of Chapeau, Que. on the passing of Judy Meilleur Sullivan (Marty) on Dec. 17. She was the daughter of the Late Fred Meilleur and Helen Hearty. As an expression of sympathy . . .

Edison Carroll native of Chapeau, Que. passed away peacefully at Pembroke Regional Hospital on Dec. 13 in his 93rd year. He was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Mabel Carroll (nee Picard). Place of burial will be in the Old St Alphonsus Cemetery.

Our condolences also go out to the Darcy family of Ottawa, Ont. on the passing of Dominic Darcy nee Noellie Larose, known as the Singing Policeman on Dec. 16. He was the son of the late Patrick and Mary (nee Walker of Sheenboro, Que.) The family homestead owned by Joe Selkirk on Darcy Line was lost in a fire last spring.

Birthday greetings and best wishes go out to Andrew Perrault and Shelagh Sullivan on Dec. 26, to Ross Carroll, Denise Roberge and Pat and Mike Lampkin on Dec. 27, to Sharon Picard on Dec. 28, to Sandra Brennan on Dec 31 and Gail Lepine on Jan.1. All the best for 2021.

Some very generous elves did a drive by with Santa’s sled on Saturday evening at Daneen’s Home Care in Chichester, Que. The sled was also spotted in the village.

A few reminders for Sheenboro – Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 p.m. Christmas Eve; the Transfer site will be closed on Boxing Day and will be open for regular hours (12-4) Saturday, Jan. 2; The 50/50 draw in support of Residence Meilleur will be on Dec. 31.

Congratulations goes to Sean Martin of Chichester, Que. He was the winner of the Polaris snowmobile in the draw at DC Bar L’Isle aux Allumette.
