This past Sunday sure put me in the Christmas spirit, despite the pandemic. The Quyon Pastoral Charge has been worshipping online via Facebook Live since March and this past Sunday, we still managed to have a Christmas Pageant much to the delight of the congregation and our families and friends. It was absolutely priceless.
The pageant starred the Sunday School kids . . .
Maddy and Tanner Belland, Julia and Cameron Bernier, Brodee Campbell, Liam and Molly Dowe, Griffin Fraser, Emma, Hayden, Raelynn and Finnley Hobbs, Caden and Danica Provost, Garrett, Ainslei and Adelei Rusenstrom, Sam and Lainey Woermke and Neve and Noah Young. Kudos to Lindsay Hamilton for organizing and producing the collection of videos as well as to all of the parents who helped make it happen. It was so uplifting to see all of the children again and incredible how much they have grown.
There was also a special visitor in town on Sunday, as Santa Claus was on the Quyon Ferry from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. to greet those who were crossing the river. He had Buddy the Elf with him and they were both masked to stay as COVID safe as possible. I’m sure it was a thrill for those on the ferry to get to see the big guy himself.
The Quyon Ferry will be open until a minimum of Dec. 18 and possibly longer. Stay tuned to their Facebook page and website for updates.
Happy birthday to Quinn Young celebrating on Dec. 17, and to Brett Stanley also on Dec. 17. I’d also like to send birthday wishes to a former Quyon resident now living in Calgary, Bob Steele. He has a birthday on Dec. 18. Best wishes to everyone celebrating this week.
