A car collided with a deer during the morning commute on Friday Nov. 13. The lone male driver was unhurt in the accident.
According to Kevin Mansey, the fire chief of the Municipality of Pontiac . . .
a call came in just before 8 a.m. about an accident near 3411 on Highway 148.
First responders were dispatched to the scene where they found a severely damaged vehicle with its air bags deployed. The driver was examined by paramedics and they assessed he was unhurt.
The wife of the driver came out to pick up her husband and the car was towed away. The deer died at the scene.
“We are starting to get into deer season so there’s going to be more accidents,” warned Mansey.
He said last year they were out every day or every other day because someone hit a deer.
