The Pontiac service area now has two active cases, down from three active cases last Monday, as the battle against a second wave of COVID-19 continues.
The service area (RLS) encompassing both the MRC Pontiac and the Municipality of Pontiac (MoP) has had 32 total cases since the pandemic began. Within the MRC, which continues to be an orange zone, the Municipalities of . . .
Campbell’s Bay, Fort Coulonge, Mansfield et Pontefract, L’Île du Grand Calumet and Shawville each have had five cases or less. The MoP, which remains a red zone until at least Nov. 23, has accumulated 26 to this point.
As of Monday afternoon, the Outaouais had 314 active cases (2,802 total, 2,431 recovered) and 39 hospitalizations, with three people in intensive care, which is up from zero last week.
The region’s COVID-19 death toll was at 57 and it has been steadily climbing since Nov 1, with 12 deaths since then. The number of active cases increased from last week, going up 57 from 257.
The region also continues to deal with active outbreaks at ten CISSSO-run facilities: Résidence Cité Jardin, Hôpital de Gatineau, RPA Chartwell Monastère d’Aylmer, Centre hospitalier Pierre-Janet, RPA Chartwell Notre-Dame, CHSLD La Pietà, Hôpital de Hull, Résidence de L’ile and Résidence La Gappe.
