I would like to congratulate Samantha (McConnell) and Paddy McCrank on the safe arrival of their bouncing baby girl Abigail Grace on Nov. 3, weighing in at a healthy 9 lbs. 3 oz. She was born in the Gatineau Hospital. Proud first time grandparents are Michael McCrank and Margaret Ann Mousseau and Cynthia Cameron and Dean McConnell. I saw a picture of her and she’s got . . .
a full head of hair and looks like she’s two months old. She is a very beautiful baby.
We had the most gorgeous weekend that I can ever remember in November with full sunshine and the temperatures from 17 to 20 degrees Celsius in the area. The night time temperatures stayed around plus six to nine so we have had a remarkable week of great weather. I was able to get a lot of yard work done and a lot of prep done for winter. I even had to mow the lawn one more time. I got a lot of the trees trimmed and in the next couple weeks I’d like to get a few trees cut that are dead on my property and clean that up. So much work to do when you own your house. The work never ends but it keeps me out of trouble.
I painted a couple of poppies on my patio door windows to commemorate Remembrance Day. I know we cannot all get together for a big parade or be at the memorials so we should all stand outside our doors at 11 o’clock on Remembrance Day to show our respects for two minutes for our veterans. Lest we forget.
I have decided to take my house off the market and stay here for the winter. This will give me more time with my family here and more time to sell off all my extras. It is actually a scary move because I’ll be going so far away and I’ve lived here most of my life. I know it’s for the better but it’s also scary.
Happy birthday wishes go out to Jimmy Lepack who celebrated on Nov. 10, Theresa Davidson and Eric Vibert on Nov. 12, Patrick McCrank on Nov. 13, Elaine Pilon and Ashley Corriveau on Nov. 14 and Roscoe on Nov. 16.
It is Theresa’s 75th birthday but because of COVID we can’t celebrate with a party but I know all her friends and family wish her the best and also wish they could be with her.
The news on Nov. 9 was that Alex Trebek died at the age of 80. He was the host for 37 years of the show Jeopardy. He fought a courageous battle against cancer.
I went for my flu shot last Tuesday in Bryson at the Lions Club Hall. It was all done by appointment only and COVID safe. I always get my flu shot every year and I was happy to get it again this year. But I think this year because of COVID the flu will not go rampant like it usually does due to social distancing and staying at home. It’s hard to get sick if you stay at home and don’t interact with anyone but it’s also very depressing to be alone all the time. I know that I am starved for company and miss playing cards and being with family and friends on weekends.
Congratulations to Joe Biden on becoming the new President of the United States.
