Attention to everyone who uses the Litchfield sanitation services. The hours will change as of Nov. 1. The hours now are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. but they will change to 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 1. Hope this will be helpful to some of you who come from a fair distance.
There has been some talk about . . .
them not changing the clocks back one hour but I don’t think they’ve confirmed that yet. Time will tell, no pun intended.
This Sunday, my neighbour Jennifer and I spent the whole day putting in eight cord of wood in my basement and piling it. What a job.
Last Wednesday, my daughter Shelley and grandson Tao were supposed to come down and spend a week with me and Theresa. We were going to get our grandson to help us put in our wood for the winter. However, I got a phone call that morning from Shelley telling me that Carl had taken a heart attack and was in the hospital. Carl just turned 50 and although I have told him he’s got to slow down it was still a shock to me. Shelley called me back later and told me that they had put three stents in Carl and that he was resting comfortably. He only spent a few days in the hospital and was back home on Saturday. He is going to have to change his lifestyle and try not to get so stressed, watch his salt intake and no more processed food.
No one could go and visit Carl in the hospital because of COVID but we still wanted to be with Shelley and the boys to be supportive. I wasn’t able to go because I had three different appointments and I couldn’t break any of them. So Theresa went down and spent the week with them to help out. All I can do is send Carl my best wishes and prayers for his safety and speedy recovery.
On Monday morning we got our first snowfall. It was not supposed to amount to much. I was talking to my sister Norma who lives near Kelona, BC and they got eight inches of snow last Friday while we were enjoying the 22° Celsius temperature here in the Pontiac with the sun just beating down on us. That sure is a change because usually my sisters are telling me how beautiful it is there and we’re getting the snow and crappy weather here.
Is there going to be a Halloween or not, this is the question. Is each town or municipality going to be doing something different? Please let the public know as soon as possible.
You have to get online to book your own flu shots. They are gonna be holding them in the usual places but you have to book an appointment.
