Fall is officially here. The leaves are changing colours and are starting to fall off now due to all the rain and wind. It is such a beautiful time of year and yet so sad because you know that we’re in for a long winter.
I officially put my house up for sale and as soon as I get it sold I will be moving to . . .
BC to be with my sister, Norma who is now living in Midland, BC. I’m excited to go and live with her but I’m also sad to leave my beloved Pontiac. It will be a big change for me and her. We both have been preparing all summer for this and she’s even built an extra shed in the back to accommodate all the gardening tools so we can both share the huge workshop she has built. The workshop is insulated, heated and even has its own bathroom. She loves doing woodwork and I love doing all kinds of other crafts so we will be able to do a lot of projects together.
So if you know anyone looking for a two bedroom, comfy little country home I have one for sale.
I will be selling all my Christmas decorations, ladders step ladders, shovels and gardening tools. There’s so much to sell I can’t list it all.
All I can tell you is that I am not taking anything but my clothes with me. I am leaving the house furnished but I have so much other stuff to sell. I will probably have a moving out sale in the next couple weeks but if you’re interested in a specific item just give me a call.
On Oct. 10 my cousin Cheryl Mayhew will be getting married in Ottawa COVID style. There will only be 10 people in attendance. I made her wedding cake and her wedding dress and my daughter Shelley will be her maid of honour because Cheryl was Shelley’s maid of honour at her wedding 17 years ago.
How wonderful is that? I even made matching face masks for everyone’s outfits. It will be small and held in her backyard in Manotick, Ont. but it will be very memorable because she’s such a special person and so is her husband-to-be Dennis O’Connor.
It was a busy week for everyone around my corner cleaning out the garden beds and flower beds and getting our land prepared for the winter. Now people are asking me what everybody’s doing for Halloween. As far as I know there will be no door-to-door visitation but please tell me or let us know if this has changed, or what is really supposed to happen. I just love Halloween and looking at all the kids dressed up and having so much fun so it will be disappointing not to be able to see them this year, if that’s the case.
Because of COVID-19 the rules for visiting and travelling and shopping change daily and it is very confusing to most people.
A lot of people don’t even know what code colour they’re in. Right now I think the Pontiac is in orange so it is only one more step to red. We do not want red, that’s where the restaurants shut down and borders close and we are in total lock down so please be vigilant by wearing your mask and washing your hands.
I’m wishing you all a happy Thanksgiving and if we can’t be together let’s Skype each other and have virtual time together. I personally miss hugs and family and it is depressing especially when you live alone like I do. You can only watch so much TV and when you turn on the news it’s all depressing and when you turn on the shows it’s all repeats.
Now that I’ve completed the house I will get into my painting again. I also have some tables I want to refinish in the garage. If I don’t sell the house I need to keep some projects to keep me busy or else I’ll go clean crazy looking at four walls.
Just want to let you know that I have apple pies and turkey pot pies for sale so just call me to place your orders.
