Tickets are still available for the 50/50 draw in support of Residence Meilleur. The draw will take place this coming Friday. To purchase a ticket contact myself or any of the committee members.

On Sunday, I took some of my family members to check out the Sheenboro Nature Preserve walking trail. Although the trail is still not completed they were very impressed. I also met the Thompsons and the Romains from Sheen who were also out enjoying the beautiful walk. Volunteers will be needed to complete the trail. If you are interested in helping out, give Joann McCann a call at 819-689-2229.

Jill Miller, formerly of Fort William, Que. and the oldest daughter of the late Lewis and Florence (nee Murray) passed away in Lacombe, Alta. on Sept. 20. I worked at Hotel Pon tiac as a teenager and the Miller family became my second family. She was also my bridesmaid. A few years back, I had the pleasure of spending some time with her thanks to Cara McGuire her niece who made arrangements for us to meet while visiting and vacationing with family in Edmonton. We had a lovely afternoon reminiscing. Her death resulted from complications due to Parkinsons and her wishes are to be buried next to her parents, her uncle Frank and her brother Bobby at St. Paul the Hermit Cemetery, in Sheenboro.
