Man dead, another facing murder charge

Investigators remained at the crime scene on rue Principale the morning after a violent altercation took place on Sept. 2. Harold Plugowsky, 61, died hours after being attacked at 6 p.m. and Johan Mitchell Blake MacLennan, 37, has been charged with first-degree murder.

One Fort Coulonge man is dead and another is facing first-degree murder charges after an altercation on rue Principale on the evening of Sept. 2.

Harold Plugowsky, 61, died of head trauma in the morning hours on Sept. 3 after being found by . . .

Sûreté du Québec (SQ) at 6 p.m. at a Fort Coulonge residence.

Johan Mitchell Blake MacLennan, 37, was arrested shortly after police arrived on scene and was charged during a Campbell’s Bay Courthouse hearing at 4 p.m. on Sept. 3.

MacLennan is currently being held at Hull’s detention facility, and his next court date has been set for Oct. 7 at 9:30 a.m. from Gatineau’s Courthouse.

The case will be moving forward within the Campbell’s Bay Judicial District. Due to COVID-19, court hearings will take place with the help of video streaming.

The SQ’s major crimes unit is investigating the homicide with the help of Gatineau Police.
