The Pontiac Agricultural Society is putting on an online auction as a way to raise money for their organization in the absence of this year’s Shawville Fair.

Summer student Rayden Besharah said that three of the directors, Tanya Greer, Lisa Coles and Kendal Lang came up with the idea and noted that the funds will be going towards repairs and upkeep to the fairgrounds.

“It’s been the last couple weeks they’ve been getting the items, and getting donations from certain people,” he said.

Bidding is taking place exclusively through a Facebook group set up for the auction and will close on Monday Aug. 17.
