The Maison des jeunes du Pontiac (MDJ) is currently holding an online raffle, called the “Get Outside and Play Sweepstakes”, to encourage local families to get physically active.

In order to qualify, participants must answer . . .

a different question every week, such as naming the activities that the MDJ offers, or what historical information can be found at the Chutes Coulonge Park. They also have to like the MDJ’s Facebook page and the post with the question, in addition to answering correctly, explained MDJ coordinator Desiree Tremblay-Giroux.

“We’re trying to promote and motivate people to get outside and play instead of being stuck in the house, whether it’s getting active in their back yard or getting to local facilities,” she said. “We’ve partnered up with some great organizations in the area and we have some great prizes.”

The contest will be going on for the next four weeks, with the prizes announced every Monday and the winners selected from a hat every Thursday.

The first week’s winners were Laura Palmer and her kids Owen, Emma and Ethan, who snagged a brand new tent and cooler. The prize for the second week was a $50 gift certificate to the Chutes Coulonge Park.
