We were so sorry and saddened to hear the news that my aunt, Brenda Young, passed away on July 18 after a courageous battle with cancer. Aunt Brenda was . . .
my godmother, and I loved her dearly. I have so many fond memories of her over the years. Our thoughts and prayers are with Scott, Jim, her granddaughters who meant the world to her, and to all of her loved ones. We take comfort in knowing she is back with Uncle Garry and Troy again.
It is a big week for birthdays coming up. Birthday wishes are going out to Brenda Clarke on July 24, to Shelley Welburn on the 25, to Grace Hamilton and Wayne Ramsay on the 26, to Josee Simard, Curtis Young, and Ryder Cote on the 27, and to my birthday buddies Stephen Rusenstrom and Jim Young on the 28. Best wishes to everyone celebrating this week.
Good wishes are going out to Elmer Alexander, as he had a knee replacement on July 15. He was released the following day and is at home and doing well. Jane tells me he even insisted on cooking breakfast on Sunday morning. Hope your recovery continues to go well, Elmer.
Blessings to little Reese MacKechnie, as she was christened on July 18 at St. Mary’s church in Quyon. She is the daughter of Brandon and Meghan MacKechnie, and she was surrounded by family on her big day.
I hope everyone is doing well and finding ways to enjoy the summer, despite the continuing restrictions due to COVID-19. This past weekend, masks became mandatory across the province of Quebec in indoor public spaces. It appears we have to learn to live with this virus for a while yet, so we might as well get used to it. While I don’t enjoy wearing a mask, I am more than willing to do so if it helps keep everyone safe and gets us through these days without having to shut everything down again. Keep washing your hands, keep your distance, and wear a mask.
