Sadly, on April 4, Joe Selkirk, of Sheenboro, lost his home to a fire. Many have been generous to a GoFundMe page setup for Joe. To add to how a community is always there to help, over the past winter months there was a weekly Euchre Tournament held in Sheenboro. Half the proceeds went to the winner and the other half was collected for charity. There was never a charity identified until now and it was fitting that this money went back to a community member in their time of need.

It is with great sadness to inform you that dad passed on April 6, 2020 in his 98 year in his residence at Supples Landing Retirement Home. His beloved wife Josie, predeceased in June 2009, met him at Heaven’s Door to welcome him home. A graveside funeral took place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery on April 8. A Celebration of Life will be held in the future. Our condolences to the family as well.
Our sympathies to the Taylor family on the sudden passing of their brother Kevin Taylor (Lorraine Driscoll) in his 64 year, of Cornwall, Ont. At 51 he suffered a stroke but still managed to make a yearly trip to Brennan’s farm. The Taylor family also have a cottage at Fort William, Que.
Birthday greetings and best wishes go to Amy Fleury and Anna Sallafranque on April 15. Liam Silverson on April 17, Tommy McLeese and Jesse Fleury celebrate April 18, Eddie Walker on April 19 and Jerome Sallafranque on April 20.
Congratulations go out to parents David Vaillancourt and Keylsa McDonald on the birth of Ruby Rose, a little sister to Clayton. She was born on April 8, weighing 9 lbs.

Our chum Paddy Kilbride was telling us that Ireland is practicing all the safety measures that Canada is doing during this pandemic. We Canadians are asked to stay in within our region but Ireland has imposed large fines for people who are caught outside of a two km radius of their permenant address.
In the Pontiac we are by no means out of the woods.
