Coronavirus, covid-19 or like the milleneals like to ignorantly call it, Boomer Removers, is now here in the Pontiac. Am I scared, of course I am. I’m not afraid to die but it’s the gasping and fighting for your last breath that I’m afraid of. Problem is this virus doesn’t only attack the elderly.
It could kill your child, sibling, lover or mother, so why won’t you stop visiting and disrespecting the law.
We had a grass fire here in Vinton on Saturday and it got out of control. The fire department was called out and quickly got it contained. Hats off to all our wonderful volunteer firefighters. Just a reminder to everyone that there is a no burn advisory in our area. Let’s all do our part.
Gatineau and Ottawa borders are closed. Roadblocks with police surveillance on bridges and roads such as Hwy. 148, the 307 in Val-des-Monts, Portage-du-Fort, etc.

School cancelled since March 2020. Social distancing measures on the rise. Tape on the floors at grocery stores to distance shoppers. Limited number of people inside stores, and line-ups outside the stores. Non-essential stores and businesses closed. Stores to close on Sundays.
Parks, trails, entire cities locked down.
Entire sports seasons cancelled. Concerts, festivals cancelled. Churches are closed. No gatherings of five or more. Don’t socialize with anyone outside of your home. Children’s outdoor play parks are closed shortage of masks, gowns, gloves for our frontline workers.
Shortage of ventilators for the critically ill. Panic buying sets in and we have no toilet paper. Shelves are bare.
Manufacturers switch their lines to help make visors, masks, hand sanitizer and PPE.
Casinos, bingo halls and all sales of scratch tickets closed.
Government closes the border to all non-essential travel, call Canadian’s home and makes it mandatory to self isolate for 14 days.
Fines are established for breaking the rules. Stadiums and recreation facilities open up for the overflow of COVID-19 patients. Press conferences daily from Prime Minister Trudeau and Quebec Minister Legault.
Government incentives to stay home are in place.
Barely anyone in the street or on the roads. People wearing masks and gloves outside. Non-essential service workers sent home. Half a million applications for employment insurance per week. New rules and regulations are being implemented daily.
They say it started in Wuhan, China at a market. Hundreds of thousands affected, dead, dying critically ill.

Happy Easter to everyone. Although we cannot be together in person at least we can Skype each other or at least phone. That would be the best thing you can do for your own family is to stay away. I’m painting some bunnies on my windows and sticking a few things in my yard to cheer people up. Put up some lights put up some decorations and make yourself and your neighbours feel good.
There is a lot of yard work to be done and a lot of spring cleaning to be done in the house too.
This is an opportunity for everyone to do what they never have time to do. No more excuses. Get ‘er done!
Clean out the dresser drawers. Clean out all your closets. Clean out the freezers and frides and all the kitchen cupboards.
That should keep you busy for at least two to three weeks.
After this is all over, we are going to have the cleanest houses ever. Maybe one day will we can all sit back and laugh at the crazy things we did during this pandemic.
I do know that a lot of people are seriously considering planting their own gardens for the first time and maybe getting a few chickens and trying their hand at pickling and freezing.
I think this pandemic is going to make a new breed of people and they will appreciate everything a lot more.
I for one was going to make a small garden but considering the year and the circumstances I’m thinking that I will make a huge garden to help my friends and neighbours who are not able to grow their own fruits and vegetables.
