On Saturday evening, the Waltham Volunteer Firefighters held their Annual Firefighter’s Appreciation Dinner. The dinner is in honour of the firefighters, the municipal council and . . .

municipal staff. It took place at the Waltham Station Restaurant. Fire Chief Larry Perry welcomed everyone. He presented a brief report on the activities of the department over the past year. A tasty roast beef dinner was enjoyed by everyone.

Chief Perry presented the annual firefighter of the year award to Earl Grieve. Also the chief spoke about the fact that two firefighters, Michelle Vanasse and Jason Pilon have graduated from the officers course and are now serving as lieutenants in the department. The chief also welcomed new firefighter Chris Gardner to the department and introduced new recruits Jacob Gale and Eric Gaudette. Pro-mayor Gerard Pharand shared a few words about the dedication of the firefighters and also the municipal employees.

Our heartfelt sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with Suzanne (née Proulx) and family in the recent passing of her dearly loved husband Reneld George Chaput of Chapeau, Que.
