I want to let everyone in Litchfield know that the dump hours have changed for the winter. The days will still be Thursday and . . .

Sunday but the hours have changed to 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The deer hunt is over for another year and I heard that the numbers were down significantly. It might be due to the fact that they were only allowed to kill bucks.

Friday afternoon, my aunt Betty Mayhew invited me to supper with her and Gilbert in Otter Lake. My cousins Heather Boyd and her brother Roger Mayhew from Russell Ont. and Terry Kluke were also invited for supper. I haven’t seen cousin Roger for quite a few years so it was nice getting together for the evening and reminiscing.

On Saturday, Karen Stevenson, Sharon Crawford, Vicky Crawford and I attended the large craft sale in Renfrew. Min Belanger was there with a large assortment of homemade crafts. There must’ve been over 50 vendors and there was a lot of knitted and crocheted articles, baked goods, preserves, jewellery of all kinds, some fantastic wood crafts and forged steel knives, also a leather smith was there with a great assortment of belts wallets and straps. There were artists and craftsmen’s of all kinds and it was so intriguing to look at all their creations. Then we went and had lunch at a restaurant. We had a great day together. It was fun being out with the girls.

Sunday, I went to visit Jim and Darlene Crawford in Shawville and met up with Sharon once again. She had picked up some stuff for me from my cousin Steve in Luskville. He sent me down two huge pails of walnuts not husked. Now, I have my work cut out for me. It will take a while to crack those suckers open.

I would like to send out birthday wishes to Bruce Hodgins on Nov. 20, Edward Bélanger, Tim Ferrigan, Allyson Belanger, Brenda Frost and Murray Ranger all on Nov. 21, Jessie Beauregard on Nov. 22, John Morin on Nov. 23, Wayne Leach, Joe Bertrand and Lynn Marie Hearty on Nov. 25 and to Jennifer Desjardins on Nov. 26.

Winter is sure setting in early this year with the temperatures dropping below 20 and very little snow on the ground so it’s very cold. Of course, it doesn’t help with the humidity and the windchill. I’ve been going around finding any drafts and blocking them. Every little bit helps to make the house nice and comfy.

I will be taking orders for meat pies and turkey pot pie’s starting now and I am making them to order so please order early. You can call me at 819-921-5296.
