On Friday, staff of the Caisse Populaire Dejardins de Fort Coulonge were in the parking lot cooking up burgers and hot dogs for their annual barbeque in support of Centraide.
Director General Stéphane Labine explained that this is the fourth year that the Caisse has hosted the shindig and estimated that around 200 people had been served.
“Our mandate is to help the community so every year we like to chip in and help the United Way,” he said.
Labine estimated they would take in around $6,000 for the United Way, from both the barbeque and a voluntary donation that staff make to participate in casual Fridays throughout the year.
