Our sympathy to the family and friends of Bill Wallace who passed away last week.
June 30 is the first of Ladysmith’s Flea Markets. It starts at 9 a.m. and goes until around 2 p.m.
It looks like there will be a few more vendors than last year. I was not sure that I could go this year due to my health problems but I’m going to try to do it. We have a lot of different items, a good mixture of everything from pots and pans to snow shoes and antiques. There is also furniture of interest. Check the classified ad in THE EQUITY for more information. It is located in the big building at the T.C.R.A., the same as last year.
On June 29 Animal Aide Pontiac will be having a barbeque at Joanne’s Valu-mart from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
This coming Sunday will be July 1, Canada Day and it is a special day to celebrate Canada’s birthday. There are many events planned, so check your community to find out what they are and what is going on. Happy Canada Day to you all and be sure to drive safely as I am sure there will be a lot of traffic.
The weather forecast for this week is supposed to be very hot so try to keep cool and don’t forget the sunscreen. I still have a little gardening to do so I am going to try and finish early in the week to beat the heat wave.
On my trip to Fort Coulonge every second day to have the ulcer on my foot dressed, we saw a lot of deer. At this time of year they are a nice red colour. Coming on towards fall they turn brown again. We also see a lot of chipmunks on the road. We still take the Mountain Road to Fort Coulonge and we still pass the residence of the beavers and they are still watching TV.
Happy birthday to Janis Pulley on June 27, to Lisa Taylor on June 28, to Fran Langford Erfle, Jennifer Pasch and Brian Thoms who all celebrate on June 30, to Ann Zacharias Villeneuve on July 1, to Cheslyn Graham July 3 and to Harold Mahlitz of Kitchener-Waterloo on July 4.
