The election season has come early in Calumet Island, where four residents are vying for council seat number four.
The spot was left vacant earlier this year when former councillor Patrice Dumouchel resigned, citing health reasons.
The four candidates are: former mayor Irene Nadeau, who resigned in 2016; former councillor Jasmin Lemaire, Alice Meilleur Pieschke and Adrienne Turgeon.
The advance poll will take place on Sunday, July 8 at the Municipal Hall, located at 8 rue Mgr Martel from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Regular polling will take place from 10 a.m. till 8 p.m. on Sunday July 15, with preliminary results being announced later that evening. The official result will be made public on Monday July 16.
In order to vote, citizens must ensure that they are on the elector list. Revisions to the elector list can be made at the municipal office on June 28 and 29.
