June 11-26, 2018
Hydro Quebec (HQ) will be replacing poles and power lines on both sides of Hwy. 148 between Allumettes Island and Morrison Island over the coming weeks, resulting in several scheduled outages and some traffic delays.
The work, primarily excavation and infrastructure replacement on their 144 kV line, will begin on June 11 with completion scheduled for June 26. The contractor planting the poles will be Sintra.
On June 11, there was a scheduled outage for all customers in the municipality, lasting approximately 30 minutes between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Another outage is planned for the week of June 26.
In addition, HQ customers on Morrison Island can expect outages scheduled for June 14, 19 and 20, starting in the morning and lasting around eight hours, with power being restored in the evening.
In a press release sent on June 6, HQ said all affected customers would be notified.
Highway 148 near the bridge linking the two islands will be reduced to one lane with alternating traffic on June 14, 19, 20 and 21. Work is scheduled to take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m, and may be postponed in the case of inclement weather.
Those looking for further information can call HQ’s Info-project line at: 1 800 465-1521 ext. 6022.
