Acadian singer/songwriter Amélie Hall was in concert at École secondaire Sieur de Coulonge in Mansfield on April 12. She performed a set of country songs for an enthusiastic crowd.

On Thursday evening, the folks in Fort Coulonge were treated to the musical talents of a young Acadian singer/songwriter.
Amélie Hall is from Tracadie-Sheila in northern New Brunswick and is an up-and-coming figure in the Canadian country music scene. She performed an intimate set at École secondaire Sieur de Coulonge for an enthusiastic crowd, even bringing out local legend Phil Denault for a few songs.
Hall released her debut, self-titled album in 2014 to critical acclaim, reaching number one on the Canadian charts for several weeks. In August of last year, she released her second album, Cultiver L’amour, bringing her even more attention.

Hall appeared in the Pontiac as part of a joint effort between MRC Pontiac, CHIP FM and Dotoris Hall in Témiscaming, explained CHIP’s station manager François Carrier. The program allows local organizers have a chance to book stops in the Pontiac for select acts that are appearing in Témiscaming.
Carrier said that this is the second event that they’ve held this season, having hosted the duo of comedians “Les Grandes Crues” in February. He was pleased with the turnout and added that they were planning to increase the number of events this year.
