We are having a nice spell of warmer weather and the snow is keeping away. It is nice not to have to shovel snow every second day. There are a lot of icy side roads and driveways so be careful walking.
February 2 is Groundhog Day. We are always anxious to see what Mr. Groundhog has to say about whether we will have an early spring or six more weeks of winter.

There are more deer sightings now beside the road. There was one killed near Ladysmith last week that was hit by a car so we need to watch for them while driving.
Gerald and Winnifred Mielke were saying that where he is working in the bush there are a lot of deer feeding on the tops of trees. One day Gerald counted at least 35.

My sister Beulah Grife was supposed to be coming to stay with us this week but she came down with the flu and a bad cold. Her daughter Shelley said that she was very sick. Maybe next week she will be well enough to come.
Card and darts are going well in Otter Lake with The Golden Age Club. Cards are Tuesday night at 7 p.m. and darts are Thursday night at 7 p.m. We have some new members who have joined this winter.
