Dear Editor,
The people have spoken and that’s democracy.
I would like to thank former Mayor Terry Murdock for what he has done for Thorne which was not so obvious.
He brought us forward but what he has done for this municipality that most do not know about is remarkable and without fanfare because that was what he is all about.
I can tell you that he hosted three barbecues for Thorne residents, mostly at his expense and despite those who knocked him or intentionally boycotted this occasion it was a greatly attended event. He has helped, with the help of friends, those people who needed help. He had his road crew help seniors or those with disabilities to remove snow banks. He hired people in this community for odd jobs who needed to make extra money.
He really cared for this municipality and contrary to some would like everyone to believe, he did what he believed was good for this community.
He ran an honest campaign – free of slander, lies, etc. He met his promises in the previous election and would have done the same this time.
I am proud to call him my friend and look forward to what will come.
Diane Champoux
Thorne, Que.
