On Friday evening, the temperatures plunged into a cold snap. On Saturday morning, the temperature registered at -33C and -40C with the wind chill. We lost power for about an hour. It was so cold that our generator wouldn’t start. A few hours later, with slightly warming temperatures and a battery boost we were able to get the generator up and running again. We were lucky, as L’Isle-Aux-Allumettes and the Chapeau /Waltham Road were out a few hours longer.
