I sat down, picked up my bible and began to read where I had left off. Anxious thoughts were threatening to take over. “Do not fret,” Psalm 37:8. Yes! Exactly what I needed to hear, needed today! I felt a calmness in my soul. I smiled at God’s way of helping me, just when I had lost sight of Him.
It was time to start working, so I looked for my bookmark. No bookmark. How do these things disappear? Don’t fret! Okay. Still searching, I reached down into the side of the sofa and felt paper. There it is I thought, and with some effort managed to pull out a booklet of stamps. No bookmark.
Often in life, we can be searching for things that have no real value and instead find something worthwhile. Peace with God and others is the most valuable pursuit of all. Focusing on getting that settled, settles everything else. Oh things may still seem upside down but the path will be straight ahead.
