Saturday night public skating will now be free of charge thanks to a generous donation from the Shawville Lions Club.
Individual public skating events were sponsored last year by several local businesses and local residents.

All of those smaller donations added up to the fact that public skating was free for the entire year.
The Shawville Arena offers public skating on Saturday evenings and Tuesday afternoons.
The Tuesday afternoon skates are still looking for sponsors. For donations, contact the Shawville Town Hall.
The Shawville Lions Club sponsorship means the community will get somewhere in the neighbourhood of 20 free skates over the course of the winter.
