Revitalisation Bryson has long been known to work hard in helping its community be all that it can be. Saturday, the community group put all of its fundraising efforts into hosting a golf tournament at Mickey Creek and was rewarded with amazing weather and a solid turnout.

Initially scheduled for the weekend of Sept. 7, the tournament was pushed back one week due to inclement weather.

Organizer Lucienne La Salle was grateful that most of the teams were still able to accommodate the switch. “Unfortunately, four teams had to cancel as it conflicted with their club schedule,” she said, “but we were happy to have had 14 teams take to the course.”

The shotgun start meant that everyone started play simultaneously from different holes and also meant that arrival at the clubhouse after the round was somewhat timely. As players filed into the clubhouse, there was much jocular banter and laughter about who would take home the low-round prize.
In the end, that award went to Francoise Corriveau, Stacy Lafleur, Jerry Lafleur and Pierre Dumouchel with a round of six under par.

Mickey Creek is complimented by strong support within the membership ranks and when combined with the breath of Bryson residents’ passionate engagement, the event was a robust success. “When we have good weather, it’s always good”, said La Salle while extending her gratitude to the course, the participants and the some 26 donors who helped make the day possible.
