Deepest sympathy is extended to the family of Edith Nugent, as she passed away on Jan. 10. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of her loved ones at this sad time.
On Sunday morning, the Quyon Lions Club held their monthly breakfast at the Community Centre, and there was a great crowd out to enjoy it. This month’s breakfast was sponsored by Dave Mayer and Monique Robert of Skating in the Forest, and they also sent their mascot, Loupie, to spend some time greeting all who came out to eat. It was great fun to see Loupie out, for both young and old. Don’t forget that the Lions intend to continue serving breakfast the third Sunday of every month. It is a wonderful treat, especially when we don’t have a restaurant in town serving breakfast.
Happy birthday to Richard Greenshields, as he celebrates on Jan. 22, with love from Sue and Ginny, Josh, Destiny, and Otis, and Nick and Aanchal. We also have birthday wishes going out to Kristen Stanley on the 21st, and to Jaime Cote on the 24th. Happy 40th birthday to Kenny Fleck, as he celebrates on the 24th. Birthday wishes are also going out to Lisa Nugent on the 26th, and to Sue Chabot on the 27th. Blessings to all celebrating this week.
The Egan Mill has recently added a new element to their business, as they are now serving chili, soup, buns, hot beverages, and sweets at the Mill from Thursdays to Mondays. They have set up a lovely little café in the Mill, so you can opt to eat in or take out. I joined a few friends last week for lunch, and we really enjoyed it. Having a café is certainly something our little town needs, and it is so fantastic to have this now available at the Egan Mill.
