The Municipality of Otter Lake has set Jan. 19, 2025, as the date for its byelection to fill the seat of mayor.

Former mayor Terry Lafleur resigned from the position in September to begin his new job as assistant director general for the MRC Pontiac, and the municipality’s pro-mayor Jennifer Quaile is taking on mayoral duties until the byelection.

Director general Andrea Lafleur confirmed in an email to THE EQUITY that candidates will be able to submit their names to the municipality between Dec. 6 and Dec. 20, and the advance poll will be on Jan. 12.
