Hope reigns

The Equity

Because mostly I am staying inside, and because it has been very cold for so long, when I heard the weather report that middle of February a more moderate temperature was coming, I felt hope. I want to believe that what I heard is really true.  I have no assurance that it is. The weather report is often wrong, but I am tentatively hoping anyway. Tentatively.

I hope in a different way though, when I read God’s word. The Creator of the universe has written down what will happen if I follow His instructions. He promises a good result. Over and over, I have seen them to be true. “A soft word turns away anger.” It sure does! “Love your neighbor as yourself.” That makes a difference. “Forgive as you have been forgiven.” Yep! I am set free every time I forgive. So when He says that one day He will make all things new, I believe it with all my heart and I rest in that hope and wait in expectation!
