Dear Editor,
One of my favourite homespun philosophers of this age said the following: “We have nothing to fear, except the scary stuff.” One thing which frightens me is that the U.S. government is in the hands of pirates, who have neither qualifications nor interest in governing, but only in running dangerous and costly scams, so that everyone is confused and frightened.
If you can view video of the incident in Minneapolis, where a woman was trying to exit a conflict zone, and was shot in the face by an under-trained, over-equipped and over-paid thug, and still think the ICE-holes are working for the good, then you’re following a far different set of values than I. To those who rant about the “right to bear lethal weapons, in case of government over-reach,” I say, “We have arrived.” Now what?
To those who say the administration is doing what needs to be done, I say, you’re just wrong about that. Just wrong. Justify it, if you can, by reference to any religious or political philosophy.
