On Saturday evening, over 100 members of the Ladysmith Sportsman Club gathered to celebrate another successful year. Held at Hotel Ladysmith, the party featured music, prizes and plenty of big racks.
Organized by hotel owners Ernie and Cathy Pasch, the awards night is in its 18th year. Ernie said that members come from all over.
“[This year] there’s quite a few more junior members, which is nice,” Ernie said, explaining that a variety of sponsors donate the prizes that are awarded or raffled off during the evening.
A panel of three judges choose who has the nicest or most oddly-shaped set of antlers.

Dave Felhaver and his bandmates provided the tunes for the evening and had everyone tapping their feet. Ernie said Felhaver is a friend of his from across the river and helped contribute to another successful evening.

Largest Lake Trout, Men: Bill Leveris (6 lbs, 12 oz).
Largest Lake Trout, Women: Claire Leblanc (2 lbs, 3 oz).
Largest Bass, Men: Ross Taylor (3 lbs, 9 oz).
Largest Turkey: Bill Leveris (20 lbs, 15 oz).
Largest Cow Moose, Rifle: Bill Leveris (30.5”).
Largest Bull Moose, Rifle: Brian Brisebois (42”).
Largest Buck, Bow: Flo Cartier (96 lbs).
Largest Buck, Black Powder: Mike the Pike (172 lbs).
Largest Buck, Crossbow, Junior: Emilie Ladouceur (115 lbs).
Largest Buck, Crossbow, Women: Tammie Younge (67 lbs).
Largest Buck, Rifle, Women: Hannah Chabot (172 lbs).
