Couples were slow-dancing and grooving to the music at the Bryson Lions Hall on Saturday night for an old-time dance put on by the club.
The band Greenwood entertained several dozen guests all night long with slow and fast numbers alike.
Lions Club member Marilyn Tanguay said the turnout is not quite the same as it used to be in past years when the club held more regular dances.
“We used to have them every two weeks,” she said, adding that the club is trying to diversify its offerings including more regular breakfasts.
Lions Club president Eric Harrington told THE EQUITY in February that the club is looking to grow again after a period of relative stagnation.
“The Lions Club is back, and we’re looking for members, we’re trying to revitalize the club, and we really want to start doing community events again,” he said at the time.
Vice-president Lise Dagenais said the club is always looking for members and volunteers, for events such as the annual cipaille supper, which happens in August.
