Quyon’s annual truck and tractor pull returned to the town’s old fairgrounds over the weekend, kicking up clouds of dust through which dedicated spectators ooh-ed and aah-ed as contenders made their runs at dragging large weights through the dirt.

Jennifer Trottier of Aylmer said she used to always attend the pull, but hasn’t in a few years. “This is my first time back since covid,” she said. This year, she brought her son Hudson Conabree for the first time.

Conabree had a chair set up right in front of where the trucks and tractors were taking off. He had been waiting patiently all day for a special truck to take its turn on the track.

“He’s waiting for ‘the girl truck,’” Trotter explained. The girl truck was Kerri Toupin driving Trouble Maker, a black truck with hot pink trim.

The long-running event, organized by the Quyon Tractor and Truck Pull Association, kicked off at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Throughout the event grounds saw, yes, trucks and tractors, but also food vendors, bouncy castles, and music performed by the Young Bucks following the pull.
