Recently my book was published and I dedicated it to my dad. I unintentionally left out my mom. Not purposely, I was thinking about one aspect of my life. But, it was an unfortunate oversight, because though my dad often had words of encouragement, it was my mom who was always there for my brothers and I. She worked two jobs to keep us and with what little she had, she did her best to provide for both our physical and emotional needs. She was always, and that is not an exaggeration, very proud of every little thing I did. I miss that. Mom’s give and give. Mine did too.

The moral of this little story? Never leave out anyone who contributes to the story of your life, especially your mom.
