The Ottawa River Regulation Planning Board’s (ORRPB) latest river conditions forecast says while water levels are generally decreasing and are expected to stabilize across the watershed over the next few days, spring runoff is expected to increase in the southern part of the basin, for areas downstream of Quyon.
“Water levels and flows are expected to increase gradually over the next few days, with possible rapid increase in some locations depending on the speed of snowmelt and the amount of rainfall received,” reads the forecast, published the afternoon of Mar. 31.
After that, levels and flows should stabilize, and even possibly start to decline depending on temperatures. Minor flooding in low-lying areas may occur in the coming week.
