We were saddened to hear of the passing of a long time resident Edith Charlotte Robinson (nee Way). She was the beloved wife of the late Floyd Robinson. Edith and Floyd had lived in Waltham and raised their two sons, Linton and Todd. Edith was a lovely person. Our heartfelt sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this difficult time.
We were saddened to hear of the passing of longtime resident Rexford “Rex” Rehel. He was the beloved husband of Patricia Rehel (nee Hogan). Rex was a quiet man. He had a sense of humor and he loved to tease. He was a retired Waltham Volunteer firefighter. Rex lived right next door to the fire hall and even after his retirement, he would check for any parcels that were delivered. He loved to go over when the firefighters were there and have a coffee and a chat. He was loved and will be deeply missed. RIP Rex.
We were saddened to hear of the passing of Warner Cole, of Sault Ste. Marie. He was the dearly loved brother of Glenda and Darwin Cole. Warner was born and raised in Waltham. Our heartfelt sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

On Saturday evening, we experienced a thunderstorm and Mother Nature really put on a lightening display. It lasted for about two hours. We were mostly spared, as a lot of areas in Renfrew county and Eastern Ontario received heavy rain and wind damage. Several areas were out of power.
We are experiencing a heat wave right now. Make sure to stay hydrated, do not exert yourself in outdoor activities, check in on the elderly and do not leave your beloved pets in a warm car.
Happy Canada Day everyone!
