I see that Champ and Cindy Corriveau’s barn has a quilt attached to it showing that it is a heritage barn. The Pontiac historical society has come up with this new Pontiac Heritage Barn quilt project and it is placing these quilts on the heritage barns in the Pontiac. What a delightful idea. If you were interested in finding out where these historic barns are you can find it on the Pontiac Historical Society and Museum Facebook page.
Well, we really got frost this weekend. I pulled out the rest of the garden and did a lot of weeding and put all the gardening tools away for the winter. I have also started getting my wood in. I like to have most of my wood piled in the basement and the rest wrapped up outside before the snow flies. I’ve heard that it is supposed to be a winter with lots of snow. Actually the snow helps to keep my house warm, so I’m happy when it does snow and stays.
I never made it to the Ladysmith Oktoberfest but I’ve heard it was a great turnout as usual. I saw a lot of pictures on Facebook about the parade and I could see that there was an abundance of antique cars and trucks. At least they had a great weekend for the Oktoberfest.
I would like to wish the following people a very happy birthday: David Sparling and Cathy Meilleur on Oct. 5, Beverly Ann Lepack and Kyle Bertrand, on Oct. 6, Helen Desjardins on Oct. 7, Maggie Crawford on Oct. 8 and Beverly Stewart on Oct. 9.
I would also like to wish happy anniversary to Cindy and Mark Flood on Oct. 4, to Darlene and Michel Dubeau on Oct. 6 and to Debbie and Kevin Sloan on Oct. 10.
I’d like to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving and hope that you have a great weekend with family and friends. After this weekend we will be looking forward to Halloween. I just love seeing the little ones in their costumes and so excited to gather up the treats.
