I was listening to a friend talk about an incident from the past. They were feeling very badly. Regret has that effect. I know. I’ve been there. It got me thinking.

Looking in your rear-view mirror is wise when you need to. You do have to see what’s back there. But you cannot go forward unless you look ahead. And that’s exactly the same on the path of life. We can remember a bad choice, learn from it, let it go and get on with our life. The Bible says, ‘Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you. Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm. Do not swerve to the right or the left; keep your feet from evil. Proverbs 4:25
