Dear Editor and Equity staff,
I moved to Shawville in 1951 with my mom and dad, who were the area’s large and small animal veterinarians for many moons. They were friends of Rosaleen and Dave Dickson. I even attended a family birthday upstairs at THE EQUITY in the late 50s . . . I think Rosaleen chased us with a broom!
For over 60 years, I have read and advertised in THE EQUITY, and I subscribe to this day.
Charles, Sophie, and the entire Dickson family, along with Brent Horner, Ann of Lean Gables Taylor, Katherine the Grape Hynes, Dave Photo Moore, Rev Steve Forbes, Bruce, and many, many others have made THE EQUITY what it is today.
The front office crew continues to be great and they answer the phone!
I have read THE EQUITY in Barbados, Colombia, Ireland, Mexico, England, Cuba, Jamaica, Holland and Quyon,
I have mailed copies to friends all over the world, and I hope to continue. Online is fine but a print edition is the real deal and they are dying daily all over the world. ‘Dear Jon’, please differ and keep a print edition, sir.
All the best to Jon Stewart and crew. You have acquired a unique and very successful business and newspaper . . . may the tradition continue. THE EQUITY rocks!!
With love and respect,
Mick Armitage, Ottawa
