The Clauses come to Mansfield

The annual nighttime parade made it’s way through Mansfield and Fort Coulonge Saturday night, drawing families to the roadside for candy and a chance to see Santa. A firetruck and a few semis led the pack, lighting up the night and looking to wake up the neighbourhood.
What Christmas parade would be complete without a visit from St. Nick himself? Santa wasn’t the only Claus there though, as he brought Mrs. Claus along for the ride.
Costumed characters and animals joined the parade, tossing candy to eager children.

A nighttime electrical parade rolled through Mansfield Saturday night, when firetrucks, tractors, horses and floats of all kinds lit up their route.
Starting off at the municipal hall, a firetruck led the way, flashing their lights and letting out the occasional siren. Semi-trucks followed, adorning light ropes and all sorts of designs to stand out from the pack.
Kids and families lined the streets, collecting candy as those on the floats or walking alongside tossed it out to crowds.

Letters to Santa were collected towards the end, and the highlight for most children, of course, came when the big man himself rounded out the parade. Riding in a sleigh alongside Mrs. Claus, the two waved and smiled at the crowds who waited eagerly to see them.
The parade continued through town, before finishing up at the arena in Fort Coulonge.
