The Horse Pull, a longstanding tradition at the Shawville Fair, was held on Sunday with solid representation from across the valley. Past head of this portion of the fair, Jack Stewart, and his wife Cathy, took in the event and voiced what a success they thought it was. Win or lose, entrants showed a great deal of heart and the results of dedication to the gathered crowd, who showed their appreciation via sheer numbers and applause. With temperatures soaring, sweat glistened off of withers and flanks on the fairgrounds and off of foreheads in the bleachers.
