Time is slipping by and with the prolonged fall we’ve enjoyed we’re getting ready for Christmas which is coming faster than we think.
Our Monday night card parties have been well attended. Thanks to all those people who have sent in prizes and of course all those dedicated card players.
Many notes of appreciation have been received for funeral luncheons served over the past months. Dr. Wilbert Keon School also acknowledged the donation given in June.
President Gail laid a wreath at the Remembrance Day ceremony held at St-Joseph’s this year.
Our craft table and luncheon was well attended and quite profitable despite the first storm on Nov. 19. Vendors provided all kinds of interesting gift ideas and tasty treats to tempt the shoppers. The chicken pot-pie was delicious as usual and enjoyed by all. Rachelle Durand was the lucky 50/50 winner.
The chair enjoyed their yearly get-together at Northfork and appreciated our donation.
Christmas events are just around the corner. Cards will soon be in the mail. Our Christmas party will be held on Dec. 5 with donations from the “money tree” going to the Shawville Hospital (Palliative Care) this year.
Many other activities are lined-up for the new year – a night of free skating at the arena for all the enthusiastic little ones, card parties for our Peruvian child and Coady Institute.
Blessed are they who see Christmas through the eyes of a child. May this be your gift at Christmas and your grace in the new year.
