Today I saw a rainbow. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a rainbow in the winter. The wind was blowing strong and I was cold yet when I saw it I stopped and took in the wonder of the world God has created. My heart was filled with joy for that moment and I felt thankful. The rainbow is a promise God gave to Noah after the great flood and He has kept that promise all these thousands of years.
Keeping a promise means so much. When we don’t, we break the trust of the other person and their faith in us and life is diminished. It is definitely worth working hard to keep our word, not just because it builds integrity, but because it is part of what it means to be made in His image. He is a promise keeping God.
