The sun shone down on Main Street on Saturday as the Shawville 150 Shop Shawville Street Market took place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Main Street was blocked off to traffic both east and west of the lights, giving vendors the space needed, and shoppers the ease of being able to move freely from table to table.

Robbie “The Boogeyman DJ” Beaudoin entertained shoppers and vendors alike with a variety of tunes, and Shawville District Minor Hockey was on-site grilling up burgers and hot dogs.

Vendors that we spoke to said they were pleased with the turnout and many chalked it up partially to the beautiful weather. Several commented that they were also grateful that there was no fee to have a table or tent set up.

The event was part of the Shawville 150 celebrations and was organized by the Shop Shawville committee, with vendors being welcomed from all over the Pontiac.

Dryden Frobel, Jeffrey Demers, Amelia Monette, Hendrix Chevalier and Lucas MacKechnie were on-site with the SDMHA, who were offering hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks.
Darleen and Bert Murphy were on-site selling 50/50 tickets for Victoria’s Quilts. Pictured, Kaara Brown-Richardson fills out her ballots. But in the end it was Mackenzie Kelly who was the lucky winner of $312.
Vendors, such as Jennifer and Peter Haughton who were selling Jennifers greeting cards, and Muriel and Sharon Davies, who were selling and autographing Muriels book, lined up along Main Street as part of the Shop Shawville Street Market on Saturday.
