Motosports enthusiasts came out in droves to take part in the grand opening celebrations of Sublime Motosports in Shawville this past Saturday.

Located on Route 148, Sublime is the region’s newest motosports emporium. Specializing in the sale, repair and service of dirt-bikes, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles and e-bikes, Sublime Motosports bills itself as the one-stop shop for all your motosports needs.

Eric Sauvé, owner of Sublime Motosports, explained that motosports have been a passion of his since a young age and that his love for the lifestyle was the catalyst for him wanting to open his own store.

“I started riding dirt bikes when I was four years old. I’ve just always loved dirt bikes and motorsports. I used to run across to my neighbors as a kid and go sit on their three-wheeler when I was two years old, I was always just over there, messing around. So, motorsports have always been a passion for me,” Sauvé said.

“I spent the last 20 years in the federal government, working my way up. But I wasn’t happy doing that. I didn’t want to go through life doing something that just paid the bills, I wanted to do something I really cared about. So, I figured you know, I’m turning 40 this year, it’s a good time to do it, if I’m ever going to try something that I really care about,” Sauvé said.

A full-service shop, Sublime Motosports can source aftermarket parts and has a full-time mechanic on staff.

The business is an authorized Beta and Thumpstar motorcycle dealership and sells a wide variety of motosports apparel, equipment and accessories.

With a keen eye for slick, eye-catching branding, Sauvé is also selling hats, t-shirts and sweaters featuring the Sublime Motosports specially-designed logo.

“I love my logo,” Sauvé said with a laugh. “It’s good to get that brand out there for marketing, but also because I really like it, I think it’s great looking. So, we’ve made some of that and I’m going to be making more. I’m hoping to make jerseys or pants and stuff like that.”

Sauvé and his wife, AnnMarie Sauvé-Schreiner, were welcoming hosts for the grand opening event, which boasted hot dogs, and branded cupcakes. As families streamed through the showroom, looking over the dirt-bikes and motorcycles, kids could be heard making a pitch to their parents on why now was a good time to invest in some new motosports equipment.

“Honestly an amazing feeling. And like I said, ‘it’s been a long time coming’. I’ve been thinking about this for several years,” Sauvé said. “I was blown away by the amount of people that showed up today. And everybody’s saying, ‘Oh, this is so great that you’re here, we can get our parts and we don’t have to go into the city’. I wouldn’t have started the shop here if I didn’t think there was a need.”
