Our thoughts and prayers for the Lewis and Sheppard family on the loss of Margaret on March 14. Peggie as she was affectionately known was a Shawville Councillor and will be missed by our community. She was the mother of Ali. Margaret was the sister of Ruth, Patti and the late Carol. She was the special friend of Reg Carkner.

St. Paul’s Anglican Church will be hosting a soup and sandwich lunch on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m.
This upcoming Sunday, March 25 is Palm Sunday. Palm Sunday is the final Sunday in Lent and the beginning of Holy Week. Palm Sunday commemorates the triumphant arrival of Jesus in Jerusalem. In the gospels Jesus enters in Jerusalem on a donkey and the townspeople threw palms in front of him as a sign of homage. Palm branches is a recognized symbol of peace and victory. A week later is Easter which we commemorate Jesus rising from the dead.
