Bouffe Pontiac held its annual Christmas Drive last Thursday and again it was a great success.

Our deepest condolences to the Barber and Murray families on the loss of Laura on Dec. 5. 

The Shawville United Church hosted a “Step Into Christmas” event with wonderful traditional and sacred music on Saturday. Desserts and fellowship followed. A great success.

Happy birthday to the following people celebrating their special day this week: Melba Powell, Shelby Woodman, Nancy Gray, Rick Young, Jane Murdock, Lynn Lariviere and Janet Graham.

St-Paul’s Anglican Church sponsors learn to play bridge at the Church Hall every Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until noon.

The Municipality of Shawville will be judging the residential and businesses Christmas decorations this week and the winners will be announced on Fri., Dec. 12.

The Pontiac Agricultural Society will be hosting a Christmas Market on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 

The Shawville Lions Christmas Online Auction is taking place from December 1 – December 14, 2025. Please support this wonderful event.

On Sun., Dec. 14, 2025 we will be celebrating the third week of Advent. It’s called Gaudete Sunday or Joy Sunday. This is because it marks the midpoint of the Advent season and the lighting of the third candle, a pink one. This signals Christmas is getting closer.
